The seemingly snakebit Utah Jazz stole Game 1 of their first round NBA Playoff series with the Clippers tonight with a tough 97-95 win in Los Angeles. The victory was rather incredible because, 17 seconds into the game, one of the Jazz’s most important (if not the most important) players, Rudy Gobert, went down with a sprained knee. While his status for the remainder of the series is unclear, Gobert missed the remainder of Game 1, and the Jazz were able to pull off a win without him. While having to win the series without Gobert would still be a daunting task, the Jazz are not “done” yet. Let’s take a look at some tweets from right after Gobert’s injury.

If Gobert leg injury is serious as it looked — he was helped off the floor — the Clips-Jazz series might have lasted all of 15 seconds..

Simply put: this series is over if Gobert is gone. And it could be over without much of a fight. https://t.co/PhBS8tIo0D
